Biko

Every ride is carbon you didn’t burn

Biko turns the rides you already take into the emissions you avoided. Track a ride with GPS and see exactly how much CO₂ a car would have burned covering the same route.

See the Carbon You Didn’t Burn

Every ride shows the CO₂ a car would have produced covering the same route. One commute is a number; a year of them is a figure worth seeing.

Watch It Add Up

Your savings totalled by week, month, year or all time, on a chart you can tap. The quiet proof that small rides are not small.

Hills Are Counted Too

Lifting a car up a climb costs fuel, and it is never given back on the way down. Biko adds that to the estimate, so a hilly route saves more than a flat one of the same length.

Honest Numbers, Not Greenwash

The estimate uses 170 g of CO₂ per kilometre — the real-world tailpipe average of the European car fleet — not the inflated lifecycle figures that make the totals look twice as good.

Always Says What It Is Comparing

Never a bare number. Every figure is shown as “saved vs. driving the same route”, because a kilogram of CO₂ without a counterfactual means nothing at all.

Show People the Difference

Turn a ride into a poster — route, distance and the carbon it avoided — ready to post. The most persuasive argument for cycling is somebody else’s numbers.

A Saving Is Only as Good as the Distance

One GPS fix a second, noisy points filtered out and stops detected automatically — so the kilometres behind your total are kilometres you actually rode.

Never Lose a Ride

Your track is written to disk as you go. If the phone dies or the system closes the app, Biko hands the interrupted ride back, rebuilt exactly as it was recorded — so nothing drops out of your total.

Keeps Counting in Your Pocket

Lock the screen or switch apps and the ride keeps recording. A live notification shows how far you have got, and one tap takes you back to it.

Ride It Again as a Flyover

Watch your route draw itself across the map at your own pace, with speed, elevation and time playing back beside it. Scrub to any moment of the ride.

Charts That Answer Questions

Speed and elevation plotted over distance or time, with the map following your finger as you scrub — so you can see exactly where that climb hurt.

Your Data Never Leaves Your Phone

No account, no cloud, no analytics. Rides, photos and notes live in a local database on your device — counting your carbon does not mean handing over your movements.

Backups You Own

Export every ride to a single .biko file and keep it where you like — Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, a chat. Importing is additive, so restoring twice changes nothing.

Works Without Signal

Recording needs GPS, not the internet. Ride out of coverage and everything keeps working; only the map tiles wait for a connection.
